Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department

The Department of Islamic Affairs in Dubai was established on the twentieth of October 1969 by a decree issued by the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum to establish an Endowment Department, and the aforementioned department was assigned the task of counting and registering all properties pertaining to endowments and receiving their proceeds and organizing their disbursement according to what was decided by Islamic law. Then the department began to expand gradually, and the features of its objectives and competencies were evident in a tangible way, and that was when Law No. (7) of 1994 was promulgated the Endowments and Islamic Affairs Law.
