What do we mean by artisan at the Famous Bakery? It means our breads and pastries are crafted from scratch, using high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients. It means we shape everything loaf and pretzel by hand, bake in small batches, and only bake goods we would feed our own families. All our locally-milled flours are ground from non-GMO unbleached whole wheat, with a high gluten protein level to produce a hearty, chewy crumb interior.
